As soon as it starts to get a little warm, I don’t wear anything but dresses! But believe it or not, I’ve never owned a slip dress so I wanted to try something new this season!

I picked up this blue silk slip dress by Marée Pour Toi and I was excited to see if I could make it work for multiple occasions.

Silk slip dresses are perfect for any special occasion, but they also work well for layering and can easily be dressed up or down

1. Layer with a tee underneath (or sweater)
I love layering the slip dress with a simple tee. I wore a white tee, but you can also wear it with black or any other color. Tees are great because you can wear them during the Spring and Summer. On chillier days, you can wear a turtleneck or light sweater underneath.

2. Add a denim jacket
We are talking about layering, so you gotta add the third piece. A denim jacket is a perfect item to round off this casual look. You can drape it over your shoulders or knot it around your waist as I did here. I love wearing the jacket around my waist because it helps to break up the fitted silhouette of a slip dress. A moto jacket works really well too, especially during the chillier months of early Spring.
